We can’t do it without you! Housing over 75 Men in our downtown Edmonton shelter takes a lot of work and organization. This is something we have been doing for over 40 years. Valued Donors, Staff, Government Programs, and Volunteers have done so much to keep things up and running.
Our building and programs are administered by the Urban Manor Housing Society, which has a board of directors that is elected from the membership, annually. Membership in our society is open to the Edmonton community.
Our team of hardworking community driven Edmontonians run our facility. There are many different ways to give back. In the office, kitchen, with maintenance and more.
We are hiring for both volunteer and paid positions! This can be something you are doing for an Educational practicum as well.

Edmonton Practicums
Are you looking for a practicum opportunity that will make a difference? Urban Manor Housing Society has practicum opportunities as well.
Students can find opportunities to do a practicum placement, clinical, fieldwork, internship, experiential learning, etc.
We need students to help with walk in or phone assessments, as well as referrals for resident enrollments, identity or income set up. The ideal student would be from a social services program, counceling or addictions.
Practicum or Work Experience Students
The Urban Manor welcomes all applications from students and graduates seeking to fulfill their practicum or work experience requirements. Please submit your resume, including course completion records or certificates, references from previous work experience and an instructor, and a cover letter explaining your reasons for entering this field and the benefits you believe you would bring to the Urban Manor. Due to the high number of requests we receive and the limited space for students we will contact qualified students only when a position is available.
